Green Spaces Volunteer (City)

The City Community Hospital is an inpatient rehabilitation and palliative care ward located within the Fulbrook Centre on the Churchill Hospital site in Oxford. The hospital currently cares for 15 patients, supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team that helps individuals recover, regain independence and prepare for the next stage of their care.

Within the hospital grounds are two courtyard gardens that need some care and attention. These outdoor spaces have great potential to offer patients a peaceful, welcoming and accessible place to enjoy fresh air, spend time with visitors, take part in gentle activities or simply relax away from the ward environment.

Restoring the gardens would make a meaningful difference to the patient experience. Attractive and well-maintained green spaces can support wellbeing, encourage social interaction and help create a calmer, more positive hospital stay. With some much-needed TLC, the courtyards could once again become valued spaces for patients, families and staff to enjoy.
