There are 5 sites at Bay Medical Group who joined the NHS Forest in 2025.
- York Bridge site has a grassed area and planting around the borders
- Westgate site has grassed areas with some small borders
- Morecambe Health Centre and Heysham Primary Care Centre are owned by NHS estates and do not have a large amount of grass/developed garden areas
- West End site has no green space other than some borders at the front however there has been some development of a community garden at the back of the site and they do promote the community gardens
They have also promoted outdoor activities for staff eg they are a parkrun practice/support cycle to work scheme and recently one of their GPs took team members up to Ingleborough for a sunrise hike.
Their main goal would be to eventually get staff and patients involved in what they could do to improve their green spaces by working with other healthcare partners. They are interested in what they can do locally to create and involve patients in designing wellbeing gardens/areas that can be enjoyed locally.
